I hope you've had a chance to log in and try out your Courtsdesk account.

This is the first of four emails we send to new users to explain Courtsdesk features which our clients say they find most useful.

The article will address Monitoring and Reminders - how to let Courtsdesk do the work for you. Instead of having to log in and do a search every day, you can automate it, and we will alert you when a relevant result comes up.

There are three ways to do it: track something for changes; save a search (any search); or save a court case listing date to your calendar for reminders.

Here's how each one works:

Monitoring a Case

The Track Button

You'll find this button is available on:

  • High Court case pages

If any update is detected on Courtsdesk, you will then be notified.

Notifications for tracked items in the High Court include: listings, filings, orders and judgments.

Notifications come in two forms. The first is in your Alerts folder on the left navigation bar, but we also send out an email once a day with all your alerts titled Daily Alerts, pictured below.

Monitor for New Proceedings

Track this Search

The purpose of this tracking option is to update you on newly discovered cases related to searches you might be interested in.

You can save any search, no matter how complex - just click the Track this search option which you'll find in pink just above the results. If a new match is found we'll email you.

Notifications come in the same two formats mentioned above.

Listing Reminders

Listing Reminders remind you of any upcoming High Court or Circuit Court hearing or listing.

To use this function, simply click on the grey bell icon then click save next to any future listing or hearing which will turn it pink. You can also add a note which will be included in the reminders you receive.

Notifications will appear in your Daily Alerts email one week before the date of the hearing.

We look forward to sharing more tips with you throughout your trial, and we hope this one was helpful!
