Monitoring for updates is one of the primary functions of Courtsdesk. Items which you can track, in order to generate alerts if they change, include: High Court cases, Circuit Court diaries, and any Judgments or Determinations you may be interested in.
The fastest way to start tracking an item on Courtsdesk is via the blue 'Track' button. The track button is visible across Courtsdesk on any page where this function is available, such as:
High Court case pages
Irish Circuit Court Diary pages
Judgments & Determinations pages
What happens after I track an item?
Tracked items will be checked daily for updates or changes. Notifications will be generated for you if any such update is found.
In High Court cases common notifications include updates to, or newly published:
Listings
Filings
Orders
Judgments
Appeals
Set Down Numbers
In Judgments and Determinations of the Irish High Court, notifications include:
Changes to the text of the judgment
Deletions of the judgment
For Irish Circuit Court Diaries
Updated Venue or Listing date
Updates to the case listings within the diary - this can be triggered by new listings added or a listing removal.
Managing your tracked items
You can manage your tracked items in the ‘Tracking’ area of the site. This area is available from the navigation bar on the left of your screen. Click the binoculars icon to view and edit your list.
You will be brought to your full list of tracked items. From here you can 'Untrack' items which are no longer of interest using the 'dustbin' icon.
Notifications
Updates found on tracked items generate notifications. Notifications are delivered in 2 ways.
Notifications are available immediately in-app in Courtsdesk when an updated item is found.
Every morning Courtsdesk automatically sends an email containing all updates found in the previous 24 hours on items you are tracking. (Note: this email is delivered once a day only)
Here's a sample of what a daily notifications email looks like - it contains the detail of what has changed in the case(s), and a link to each on Courtsdesk.
